ATLANTA, Ga. — Morgan Gamble, a 21-year-old Clark Atlanta University senior who appeared in Netflix’s revival of A Different World, has died following a devastating car crash involving a driver accused of traveling nearly 95 mph.

The collision occurred Tuesday, October 13, at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Hank Aaron Drive and Glen Street in Atlanta.

According to investigators, Nikolai Dunford was driving approximately 94 mph in an area police identified as a 35-mph speed zone when his vehicle struck Gamble’s car.

Gamble suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

Dunford was arrested and charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, and speeding.

Gamble was a senior studying mass media arts at Clark Atlanta University, where she had developed a passion for television, film, and production.

She had already begun building an impressive creative résumé, producing short films, documentaries, and other media projects while pursuing opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Most recently, Gamble worked as a student production assistant and background performer on Netflix’s revival of A Different World, the beloved television series centered on life at a historically Black college.

Her involvement in the production represented an exciting step toward the career she had envisioned.

Gamble was also recognized for her leadership and involvement on campus, including recently being crowned Miss Omega Psi Phi.

Gamble’s family described her as an ambitious young woman who knew exactly what she wanted to accomplish.

Her mother, Brandi Gamble, remembered her daughter’s natural ability to organize and produce everything from creative projects to family gatherings.

The show’s executive producer and showrunner, Felicia Pride, also paid tribute to Gamble, remembering her contributions to the production and expressing condolences to her loved ones.

Clark Atlanta University released a statement mourning the loss of a member of its campus community and announced counseling resources for students affected by her death.

Gamble’s death has also renewed concerns among nearby residents about dangerous driving and traffic safety in the area where the collision occurred.

The investigation remains ongoing.

At just 21 years old, Morgan Gamble was already turning her creative ambitions into reality. Her death leaves a grieving family, university community, and entertainment industry mourning a promising young talent whose career was only beginning.
