Jhené Aiko Announces Fourth Studio Album ‘Westside Whimsy’

LOS ANGELES — Jhené Aiko has announced her fourth studio album, Westside Whimsy, set for release Friday, Sept. 11.

The R&B singer announced the project Tuesday, revealing its title, cover art and release date. A tracklist and featured artists have not yet been announced.

Westside Whimsy marks Aiko’s first full-length studio album in more than six years, following Chilombo, released in 2020.

Chilombo debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and received three Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year.

Aiko has previously discussed drawing inspiration from 1990s music and California culture for her next body of work, including West Coast car culture, beaches and the region’s laid-back atmosphere.

The Westside Whimsy title had been teased earlier this year when Aiko used the name for a limited-edition smoothie collaboration with Erewhon.

Aiko recently appeared with Larry June on “California Dream,” from his album Who Coppin’.

Westside Whimsy arrives Friday, Sept. 11.
