PULSE RADIO 96.1 | NATIONAL NEWS

Texas Roadhouse is facing intense backlash online after a disturbing social media allegation claimed restaurant workers were deliberately contaminating food served to Black customers.

The controversy began after a racist post reportedly appeared inside a Facebook group called “White and Proud.” The person behind the post claimed to belong to a separate Facebook group for white restaurant servers and alleged that workers were intentionally licking their fingers, touching food and contaminating meals ordered by Black customers.

The post specifically mentioned Texas Roadhouse and Logan’s Roadhouse, claiming some restaurant workers were putting saliva on the restaurants’ signature rolls.

The post also claimed that the alleged server group had more than 400,000 members.

As the allegations spread across social media, the story was quickly condensed into claims that “Texas Roadhouse has a group on Facebook with 400K members and they all agreed to spit in Black people’s food as a collective.”

However, that wording does not accurately describe the original allegation.

The Facebook group was reportedly described as a server group — not a Texas Roadhouse group — involving restaurant workers from several restaurants. There is also no evidence that all 400,000 members participated in, supported or even saw the alleged discussion.

That distinction does not make the underlying allegation any less disturbing.

The claim that restaurant workers may have deliberately targeted Black customers and contaminated their food because of their race is serious. But at this time, there is no independently verified evidence showing that Texas Roadhouse employees participated in a coordinated effort to spit in Black customers’ food.

Texas Roadhouse has strongly denied the allegations.

The company says its investigation has found no credible evidence of employees deliberately contaminating Black customers’ food and says it has been unable to identify any current or former employees involved in the alleged conduct.

Texas Roadhouse has also reportedly brought in a third-party firm to investigate where the allegations originated.

The original Facebook post has reportedly been deleted, making independent verification of several details surrounding the allegation difficult.

So far, investigators and reporters have not independently confirmed the existence of the alleged 400,000-member server group described in the post, identified the person responsible as a Texas Roadhouse employee, or produced evidence showing Black customers’ food was actually contaminated.

For now, what is confirmed is that a racist allegation circulated online and triggered widespread outrage.

What is not confirmed is the viral claim that Texas Roadhouse itself operated a 400,000-member Facebook group where employees collectively agreed to spit in Black customers’ food.

The allegations have nevertheless sparked calls for boycotts and concerns among Black diners as screenshots continue circulating across Facebook, X and other social media platforms.

Texas Roadhouse says its investigation into the allegations remains ongoing.

Pulse Radio 96.1 will continue following the story as additional verified information becomes available.
