DEER PARK, Ill. — A Round Lake woman who worked at a senior living facility in Deer Park is facing multiple felony charges after prosecutors allege she stole credit cards and jewelry from elderly residents and used the stolen cards at businesses across Illinois and Wisconsin.

Randi N. Soto, 31, of Round Lake, has been charged with four counts of aggravated identity theft of an elderly person and one count of unlawful possession of a credit or debit card.

Soto was employed at Deer Park Village Senior Living, 21840 West Lake Cook Road in Deer Park, where prosecutors say two elderly female residents discovered credit cards and jewelry missing from their rooms. Neither woman had given anyone permission to take or use their property.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the alleged thefts.

According to prosecutors, the first victim discovered jewelry missing from her room and learned of attempted transactions involving her debit card on April 5. The card was later used at Walmart locations in Gurnee and Waukegan.

Prosecutors allege Soto was captured on surveillance video attempting to use the victim’s debit card.

A second elderly woman reported that four gold necklaces and her debit card were missing. That card was subsequently used at Luxury Spa and Nails in Kenosha, where prosecutors say Soto was captured on video using it.

The same card was later used at Cheddar’s in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, where Soto was again allegedly captured on camera. Prosecutors said the card was also used at a Walmart in Waukegan, with surveillance video once again allegedly showing Soto using it.

An arrest warrant charging Soto with the Class 3 felony offenses was issued on May 15. She was arrested earlier this month.

Court records indicate Soto was already on pretrial release in connection with a separate November 2023 Lake County felony case when the alleged identity thefts occurred. That pending case involves a theft in Vernon Hills.

Soto was also reportedly wanted in connection with a June 2025 misdemeanor case involving an alleged violation of an order of protection in Waukegan. She additionally has a pending residential burglary case in Cook County.

Following her latest arrest, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition seeking to revoke Soto’s pretrial release in her earlier felony case, arguing that she violated the conditions of her release by allegedly committing a new offense.

Lake County Judge Michael Nerheim granted the petition and ordered Soto held in the Lake County Jail.

During the revocation proceedings, Nerheim noted Soto’s history included multiple failure-to-appear warrants and judgments on bond forfeitures.

Soto is scheduled to return to court September 1 for a status hearing.

The charges against Soto are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
