19-Year-Old Faces Charges After Serious Head-On Collision on Highway 83

A 19-year-old woman from Genoa City is facing criminal charges following a serious head-on collision earlier this month that resulted in multiple injuries.

Authorities say Tegan Cox has been charged with two counts of injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle in connection with the May 2 crash along Highway 83 near Highway 50.

According to investigators, Cox’s vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and collided head-on with another vehicle. Officials said a passerby was able to rescue Cox from the vehicle shortly before it became fully engulfed in flames.

Cox and the driver of the second vehicle both sustained serious injuries in the crash. A passenger in the other vehicle also suffered injuries, though authorities described them as less severe. Officials say all three individuals are continuing to recover.
