Summer Walker Joins Victony and Don Toliver for Sultry “SLICK” Remix and Music Video

R&B sensation Summer Walker is bringing her signature sultry vocals to the Afrobeats scene, joining Nigerian superstar Victony and Houston rapper Don Toliver for the official remix of Victony’s viral hit, “SLICK.”

Released October 16, the collaboration gives the already successful record a fresh international appeal, blending contemporary R&B, Afrobeats, and melodic hip-hop into a smooth, infectious track.

The remix arrives alongside a visually striking music video directed by Jyde Ajala. Set against stylish locker-room and indoor swimming-pool backdrops, the production features coordinated choreography, vibrant fashion, and atmospheric lighting that complement the song’s sensual energy.

Walker commands attention throughout her appearances, delivering her signature understated vocal style while embracing the video’s glamorous aesthetic. Her contribution adds a distinctly soulful dimension to Victony’s rhythmic foundation, while Toliver’s melodic delivery brings another layer to the collaboration.

The original version of “SLICK,” released in July 2026, has already established itself as one of Victony’s biggest solo successes. The track spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Nigeria’s Official Top 100 chart and reached No. 2 on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. Its popularity across streaming platforms, radio, and social media helped propel the Nigerian singer to an even wider international audience.

The song also appears on Victony’s sophomore studio album, STARLIFE, released in August.

Interestingly, Walker’s involvement follows her own social media interpretation of the record. Earlier this year, the singer shared a version dubbed the “Thick Slick Remix” on Instagram, prompting fans to call for an official collaboration. Those requests have now materialized into a full release featuring all three artists.

The release also comes during a complicated period in Walker’s career. The Atlanta-born singer has recently made headlines over legal disputes involving longtime industry partners Interscope Records and Love Renaissance. Despite those developments, Walker continues to maintain a musical presence through new collaborations.

For Victony, the remix represents another significant step in his expanding international career. His previous collaboration with Toliver on the 2023 remix of “Soweto,” which also featured Rema, helped introduce his music to audiences beyond Nigeria.

With Walker now joining the mix, “SLICK” further demonstrates the growing relationship between African popular music and American R&B, two genres that increasingly share musical influences and global audiences.
