Cassie Ventura has secured a significant legal victory after a federal judge dismissed the claims brought against her by former male escort Clayton Howard, marking the latest development in the legal fallout surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs’ highly publicized abuse allegations.
The lawsuit stemmed from Howard’s claims that he suffered psychological and emotional harm after participating in alleged “freak off” encounters involving Cassie and Combs. Howard accused both parties of civil conspiracy, human trafficking, and other misconduct, alleging that Cassie played an active role in arranging the encounters.
However, U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee Hwang ruled in Cassie’s favor, dismissing all claims against the singer. According to court documents, several of the claims were dismissed with prejudice, meaning Howard cannot refile those allegations against her. The ruling represents a major legal setback for Howard’s case against Cassie.
Cassie’s attorneys argued throughout the litigation that Howard’s lawsuit lacked factual support and was motivated by financial gain after learning that Cassie had reached a confidential settlement with Combs in 2023. They also pointed to messages Howard allegedly sent to Cassie’s husband, Alex Fine, in which he expressed support for Cassie’s decision to come forward with abuse allegations against Combs, saying her account was “100% valid.”
Howard maintained that the messages did not contradict his lawsuit and argued they were sent before he became aware of the full extent of his alleged injuries. While the judge dismissed the claims against Cassie, Howard has reportedly been given limited leave to amend portions of his complaint unrelated to the claims that were permanently dismissed.
The ruling comes as Cassie continues rebuilding her life following her testimony during Sean Combs’ federal criminal trial and amid a series of civil lawsuits tied to the music mogul. Her attorneys described the decision as an important affirmation that the claims against her lacked legal merit.
Although litigation involving Combs and other defendants remains ongoing, the dismissal removes Cassie from this portion of the case and represents one of her most significant courtroom victories since publicly accusing her former partner of years of abuse in late 2023.
