Pulse Radio 96.1 is officially opening the doors to a new era of music discovery with the launch of The Rise — a curated playlist and artist spotlight initiative focused on emerging hip-hop, R&B, and alternative artists shaping the future of the culture.

Unlike traditional submission playlists that simply collect random songs, The Rise was created with intention. The new platform aims to spotlight artists with strong identity, originality, atmosphere, and replay value — especially independent creatives building momentum outside the mainstream industry machine.

The launch marks a major shift in direction for Pulse Radio 96.1 as the station continues evolving into a more curated, culture-driven music platform centered around discovery, community, and emotionally intelligent music programming.

Chicago and Lake County artists are especially encouraged to submit music, reinforcing Pulse Radio’s ongoing commitment to uplifting local voices and regional talent.

Artists interested in being considered for The Rise can now submit music directly to:

Submission Guidelines:

  • MP3 format only
  • One track per submission
  • Multiple tracks will automatically disqualify the submission

According to Pulse Radio 96.1, the goal of The Rise is simple:

discover artists before everybody else does.

The playlist will feature a rotating selection of emerging artists, underground records, and future-facing sounds handpicked by the Pulse Radio team.

With Pulse Selects, After Hours, and now The Rise, Pulse Radio 96.1 continues building a growing ecosystem designed to blend radio, music curation, nightlife energy, and cultural storytelling into one unified experience.
