Mountain lion confirmed in southern Illinois, IDNR says
CHICAGO — The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has confirmed a mountain lion in southern Illinois following multiple sightings in Union and Jackson counties, officials said. IDNR believes the sightings are of the same animal — the 12th mountain lion documented in Illinois since 2002, according to the department.
