CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. — The Trump Truth Store in Crystal Lake is closing its doors just three months after celebrating the grand opening of its new location.

Owner Lisa Fleischmann announced the closure Thursday in a social media post that read, “Closing store! Libs win!!!” Fleischmann did not immediately provide further details about what prompted the latest decision to close.

The politically themed store, located at 829 S. Virginia Road, sells clothing, flags, mugs, posters and other merchandise supporting President Donald Trump. The Crystal Lake location held its grand opening on May 16 after the business relocated from Huntley.

The announcement marks another setback for a business that has experienced several closures and relocations.

Earlier this year, Fleischmann temporarily shut down the Crystal Lake store after reporting extremely low sales. At the time, she said the business was not generating enough revenue to cover even half of its rent and was sometimes seeing only a few customers per day. She later reopened the store in April before holding the May grand opening.

Before moving to Crystal Lake, the Trump Truth Store operated in Huntley. That location closed in July 2025 following an eviction dispute involving merchandise, signs, flags and other displays placed outside the business.

Lisa Fleischmann, the owner of the Trump Truth Store in Crystal Lake, was arrested in Carpentersville during a traffic stop for failing to appear in court in a traffic case as bodycam video was released earlier this month showing the May 26 encounter. Fleischmann has since pleaded guilty in that case. | Screengrabs

The closure announcement also comes shortly after Fleischmann pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license in DuPage County. The case gained widespread attention after body-camera footage of her May arrest in Carpentersville circulated online. She received six months of court supervision in the case.

It remains unclear when the Crystal Lake location will officially close or whether Fleischmann plans to continue selling merchandise online.

The announcement comes only months after Fleischmann had expressed optimism about the larger Crystal Lake location and its future, making the store’s latest reversal a short-lived chapter for the business.
