Megan Thee Stallion Strikes Interscope Distribution Deal While Keeping Her Masters Ahead of ‘Act III’

Megan Thee Stallion is taking her independent empire to another level.

The Houston rap superstar has announced a new distribution partnership between her Hot Girl Productions imprint and Interscope Records, setting the stage for the next chapter of her career and the arrival of her highly anticipated new album, tentatively titled Act III.

Importantly, the agreement is a distribution partnership rather than a traditional record deal. Megan will continue releasing music through Hot Girl Productions while maintaining ownership of her masters and publishing.

Interscope will provide global distribution and strategic support, giving Megan access to the infrastructure and reach of a major record company without requiring her to surrender the independence she has worked to establish.

Announcing the partnership, Megan celebrated the milestone with her Hotties:

“HOT GIRIRL PRODUCTIONS x INTERSCOPE RECORDS. NEW LEVEL UNLOCKED.”

She continued:

“Owning my masters & publishing and maintaining my independence as an artist is always my priority!”

For Megan, the deal represents the next stage of a business strategy centered around creative control and ownership.

“Everything I’ve built has been about trusting my vision, owning my power, and never putting a ceiling on how far I can go.”

The Grammy-winning rapper also explained why Interscope made sense as a partner as she looks to expand Hot Girl Productions globally.

“I’ve always wanted to create music on my terms while building a legacy that extends beyond the industry.”

She added:

“This distribution partnership with Interscope allows me to stay true to my creative vision while also increasing my global reach.”

The agreement arrives at an important moment in Megan’s career. After years of legal battles surrounding her previous recording situation, she emerged as an independent artist and launched Hot Girl Productions, releasing her 2024 album MEGAN under her own company.

Now, rather than abandoning that independence for another conventional label contract, Megan appears to be using Interscope’s resources to strengthen the operation she already owns.

Roc Nation also remains involved in the new partnership.

Interscope Capitol Vice Chairman Steve Berman praised Megan’s approach to her career, describing her as a “singular artist” who has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to shape culture while building her career on her own terms.

‘ACT III’ IS COMING

The business announcement also brings fresh attention to Megan’s next studio album.

Megan recently confirmed during a conversation with former First Lady Michelle Obama that she’s actively working on the follow-up to MEGAN, with Act III currently serving as its working title.

And longtime fans may have another reason to be excited: Tina Snow is returning.

Megan has indicated that the forthcoming project will reconnect with the fan-favorite alter ego associated with some of the harder-edged, confident rap that helped establish her early career.

She’s also taking her time with the record.

“I feel like Act III is going to be one of my favorite projects I ever put out because I definitely took my time with this one.”

Megan has teased that the album’s collaborations could “gag” listeners while also promising material aimed at some of the more specific sounds her fanbase has been asking to hear.

No official release date for Act III has been announced.

Still, the Interscope partnership makes one thing increasingly clear: Megan’s next era isn’t simply about another album.

It’s about ownership, expansion and maintaining control.

Rather than choosing between independence and major-label resources, Megan Thee Stallion is attempting to have both—keeping ownership of the music she creates while using one of the world’s biggest music companies to help distribute it.

And with Tina Snow preparing to return, the Hot Girl’s next act is officially taking shape.
