UPDATE: Donald Trump Removes AI-Generated ‘Jesus’ Image From Truth Social After Backlash

The AI-generated image shared by Donald Trump on his Truth Social account, depicting himself as Jesus Christ, appears to have been removed.

The link to the post—originally published Sunday, which coincided with Orthodox Easter—now returns an error message stating, “This resource could not be found,” as of Monday afternoon.

The image, which depicted Donald Trump as Jesus Christ healing the sick, drew backlash from several of his own conservative supporters.

The visual showed Trump in religious attire, placing his hand on a sick man’s head, surrounded by followers, with symbolic imagery including an American flag, eagles, the Statue of Liberty, and additional figures in the sky.

The now-deleted Truth Social post followed a lengthy and highly unusual rebuke of Pope Leo XIV, who has voiced opposition to the Iran war without directly naming Trump.

In the hours leading up to the post’s removal Monday morning, several prominent conservative Christian voices publicly urged him to take it down.

“Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this?” conservative political activist Riley Gaines wrote on the social platform X early Monday.

“Either way, two things are true,” she added. “1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked.”

Conservative commentator Michael Knowles also weighed in, stating, “I assume someone has already told him, but it behooves the President both spiritually and politically to delete the picture, no matter the intent.”

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed strong opposition, writing on X that she was “praying against” the post.

“On Orthodox Easter, President Trump attacked the Pope because the Pope is rightly against Trump’s war in Iran and then he posted this picture of himself as if he is replacing Jesus,” she wrote. “This comes after last week’s post of his evil tirade on Easter and then threatening to kill an entire civilization. I completely denounce this and I’m praying against it!!!”
