Chipotle Set to Open New Location in Zion with Drive-Thru and Outdoor Seating

ZION, Ill. — A new dining option is headed to Zion, and it’s one many residents will instantly recognize. Chipotle Mexican Grill is preparing to open a new location along Sheridan Road, bringing its popular customizable menu closer to Lake County locals.

The upcoming restaurant will span approximately 2,300 square feet and feature both a drive-thru pickup lane and outdoor seating. The location is planned to be built next to Popeye’s, adding to the growing list of food options in the area.

Known for its fast-casual approach, Chipotle offers a variety of made-to-order items including burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas, and salads. With more than 2,000 locations worldwide, the brand continues to expand into suburban communities like Zion as demand for quick, customizable dining grows.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new restaurant is currently being planned for June. Officials say the exact date and time will be announced once details are finalized.

The addition of Chipotle is expected to bring both convenience and new job opportunities to the area, while also contributing to ongoing commercial development along Sheridan Road.
