Durand Bernarr got a real “auntie check” from Lynn Whitfield on the red carpet, and honestly, it was all love.

While attending the carpet at the Essence Women in Hollywood event, Durand Bernarr shared a brief and humorous moment with legendary actress Lynn Whitfield that is now gaining traction online.

In a clip captured during an interview with Leah Henry of Leah’s Lemonade, Bernarr was singing the viral version of “The Muffin Man” when Whitfield, who was standing beside him conducting her own interview, stepped in with what many are calling classic auntie energy.

Whitfield appeared to give Bernarr a gentle but firm signal to quiet down so she could focus on her interview.
